Q&A

What is "Start 5 and 5"?

"Start 5 and 5" is an invitation to bring more depth and calm into your daily life – and at the same time, a small challenge! It's all about simply starting: five minutes of Bible reading and five minutes of prayer, every day, for 40 days. You can explore what faith and spirituality might mean to you without stress or expectations. It's your chance to have a genuine and personal experience while engaging with new thoughts and perspectives.

"Start 5 and 5" begins privately. If it adds value to your life, we've already achieved our goal!

The aspect of community comes second. Of course, we look forward to meeting people who have experienced "Start 5 and 5." However, such a community with Christians can also be found elsewhere.

What "Start 5 and 5" is NOT!

"Start 5 and 5" is not a program that tells you how to think or believe. It's not a course but an open invitation that you can shape in a way that works for you. It's not about performance or perfection but about a personal and relaxed experience.

"Start 5 and 5" is also not an association, church community, or fixed group. The people behind this project come from various places, communities, and denominations.

Who is behind "Start 5 and 5"?

The project is content-wise managed by Holger Berentzen and Felix Hammer from Stadtpastoral Lingen. Additionally, many people have contributed to its development – more about that under "Thank you". In addition, Christians from Lingen and the surrounding area are available as contacts and partners for interested individuals and small groups.

Are there preventive measures against abuse in "Start 5 and 5"?

Safety is an important aspect of "Start 5 and 5," especially when people come together within the project's framework. We place great importance on ensuring that everyone involved is aware of the issue of abuse. For community activities, we follow the Institutional Protection Concept of the Pfarreiengemeinschaft Lingen-Süd to provide a safe and secure environment.
